Fr. Paul Xavier was born on March 20, 1986, in Ernakulam, Kerala, India, as the youngest son of late Mr. Xavier VJ and Mrs. Margaret Mary. He has two brothers. He joined Prakash Bhavan Seminary, Mannakkad, Kerala, in 2001. He graduated with a Bachelor of Philosophy from Suvidya College, Bangalore, and a Bachelor of Arts from Bangalore University, as well as from De Sales University, in 2008. He completed his theological studies at Jnana Deepa, Pune, and graduated in 2012. He was
ordained a priest on April 13, 2013, at St. Francis Assisi Church, Amballore, Kerala.
He earned a Master of Arts in English from Madurai Kamaraj University in 2016 and a Bachelor of Education from Bastar University in 2023.
As a young priest, he served as a Vocation Promoter and staff member at the seminary from 2013 to 2021. He was also the Superior and Rector of Prakash Bhavan Minor Seminary from 2017 to 2021. After completing his B.Ed. studies, he became the Superior and Principal of St. Mary’s EnglishSchool, Kothari.
In his Formation Ministry, he has focused on forming future priests by nurturing their spiritual and academic growth. He has helped candidates deepen their faith and apply it practically in pastoral settings. Through the Ministry of Education, he has worked with schools to provide moral education classes that emphasize compassion, integrity, and respect. He has also organized workshops and community service projects, creating opportunities for students and staff to engage in meaningful dialogue and personal growth.
